Summer leaning Journey Task 3!

 

Today for the Summer learning journey I decided to do the summer text graphic I found this very fun but also slightly difficult at the same time, I like the part that I did about my dog Honey That part was fairly easy because she sleeps A LOT I could have put a bit about how naughty she is but I didnt.

Bee creative!

Today for the summer l created a habitat for the bees in Minecraft education edition with my sister, Ashlyn @ Ahipara school,  I enjoyed this activity because I love building and playing Minecraft I also really enjoyed designing it And I think I did well creating the picture in my head, and this was very fun and the was nothing I didn't like,

Stick man travels the world!

Today I made a stickman animation and this took a long time and had a lot of thought process and I think I had to go back to the drawing board three times to get the idea but I do think it was worth it for how cool I think it turned out, I hope you enjoy my mini-movie animation about a stickman that TRAVELS THE WORLD, and if you had to make a little animation about a stickman what would it be about?

Gaming workshop

 Yesterday on the 13th of December rooms three and five from ahipara school had a gaming workshop which was very fun and cool there were games such as Fortnite, fall guys, and among us and other games we also played Minecraft education on our chrome books, I learned how to play fortnite and among us, I enjoyed this day very much and I would just like to thank Tony from esports Whangarei and Ryan and Jess from the ministry of education for making this day happen.

Cuba

 

  

This term we have been learning about refugees, which if you didn't know are people who leave their home country because of war conflict or natural causes. we had to create a slide about a country and it could be any country so I chose Cuba this slide explains a fair bit about Cuba but in 1994 lots of Cubans had to try and escape Cuba by boat or raft.

we have been focusing on geometry or  transformations, so as a class we used scratch to create a code that 

will show geometry so I did two, reflection and rotation.

Rock painting in lockdown.

 

While in lockdown me and my younger sister decided to do some rock painting as she had to for a school project while I just did it for fun. 

I attempted to paint a goat, axolotl, and a squid it was fairly difficult trying to get all the proportions right but I tried. as you can see here they aren't the best but at least I think they are pretty cute.

We collected the rocks at high tide on the beach while taking the dog for a walk we ran into a few people on the way but we were sure to keep up our social distancing and kept out of their way.

Refugees.

 

This week in class we've been learning about refugees, refugees are people who leave their country to escape war or conflict. This week we have also been reading a graphic novel called My Name is Rez. It's about a girl who is a young refugee and was moved to New Zealand, she had to learn four languages and was teased for not knowing much English. She is now a lawyer and has won young New Zealander of the year. 

Get into gaming nz

 Today around 12:30 my class watched a live stream on youtube about esports and gaming. It discussed roles in the gaming industry and how to get into it, which was really inspiring for me, and hopefully some of my classmates. In the live stream, they go over little tips and stuff on how to get into the gaming industry and so now I really want to be a video game character designer. 

The author visit

 

 

Today we had an author visit our school and talk about some of his books, he was very funny and everyone enjoyed his sense of humor, he was very good at drawing and did some hilarious drawings of some of my classmates.
